While posting about crime in Winchester, I might as well turn people's attention to this article from the Winchester Star: Man Charged with Fleeing and Peeing.
Hilarious!

Someone's Slacking...
Typically, every week the police log from the previous week is posted online. Unfortunately for webstalkers like me, the last update was for the week of May 7th. We all know that Winchester is a wonderful and safe community, but for the sake of paying taxes, I hope the police have been doing something!
In the mean time, the annual crime statistics have been keeping me satisfied. The numbers were presented online in list form, so I decided to make a nice x-y scatter plot for easier viewing. Enjoy!

Other Bloggers
On a typical Sunday morning web browsing session, I discovered that I am not the only one who reads the Winchester Police Log. The blog Plog follows/ed some of the funnier police log entries in Middlesex county. Unfortunately, this blog was abandoned in 2004. Just in case, I still added it to my RSS feed.

How bad do you need eye drops?
Well, you probably would be better off without them if they would prevent you from seeing a random mans genitals.
Per usual, I was reading the Winchester Police Log. From August 12 to 18, 2008 there were a variety of things reported such as:
- A stolen potted plant
- A motorcyclist lost his backpack
- Someone tried to illegally transfer money from a Winchester business to a bank account in Moscow
- Stolen bicycle
- Some car accidents
- And a patient harassed his optometrist for a refill on his eye drops. (He actually showed up at the optometrist's home after he was denied the prescription at the doctors office.)
- A few burglaries
- An asian man flashed a woman out for a jog

Winchester Police Log
I usually read the Winchester Police Log on a weekly basis. I like to remind myself of how safe the town I reside in really is. Typically, the police log includes incidents involving speeding, unregistered cars, drivers with suspended lisenses, car accidents, and occaisonal thefts from homes or cars. Recently though, there was a rather dishonest crime reported.
Someone at the Parkview reported losing their wallet at the pool containing approximately $600 to $700. The description of the wallet also included a detailed breakdown of the bill denominations. The police asked the custodian who had cleaned the area earlier if he had seen the wallet. He said he had not, but was oddly enough carrying $500 to $600 in his wallet including a similar bill breakdown.
Now, I am not sure why this person was carrying so much cash or how one could let their wallet out of sight when carry that much money, BUT that was very dishonest of the custodian and I wonder what happened to him. I am almost compelled to call the police department to ask.
